Principles of Learning & Teaching A pilot program was conducted during 2004 with forty-four schools from seven Schools for Innovation Excellence clusters participating. The aim was to trial, discuss and refine the Principles and a range of audit instruments, professional development modules and support materials to support teachers to examine their pedagogical practices and establish a plan of action in their schools. In addition, extensive consultation has taken place within the education community to ensure the relevance and validity of the Principles and support materials. The Principles build on other Victorian research projects that have focussed on pedagogy. The Principles have been extended to include all domains and stages of learning.
