Art
- See: http://www.artsonia.com/museum/gallery.asp?exhibit=290642&index=12 Miniature art and photography: This art experience was based on an image from the book “Flotsam”: http://tinyurl.com/28crhdh (please visit this link to get a clearer understanding of art inspiration). The students were also introduced to Willard Wigan’s microscopic work (visit this link: http://tinyurl.com/2g4u9s7 to view video on Wigan). The students were given the opportunity draw any image that they would like to see “so small”. These images were photographed and imported into the computer. The students used PhotoBooth on a Mac to take a picture of their own eye and place their tiny drawn image into their composition. The kids really enjoyed this art experience and gained a new perspective on art!

I really appreciate you sharing these resources. It has been difficult to get information that I can use in my classrooms, but this website has everything together and ready to go. Thank you very much for the hard work and the websearching you have done to save time for others.

A man asked his wife what she’d like for her 40th birthday. “I’d really like to be six again,” she replied. On the morning of her birthday, he got her up bright and early and off they went to a local theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Screaming Loop, the Wall of Fear, everything there was! Wow! Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park, her head reeling and her stomach upside down. Correct to a McDonald’s they went, where her husband ordered her a Happy Meal along with extra fries and a refreshing chocolate shake. Then, it was off to a movie – the latest Disney and what a fabulous adventure!
Finally, she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed. He leaned over and lovingly asked, “Well, dear, what was it like being six again?” One eye opened. “You idiot, I meant my dress size.” The moral of this story is: When a woman speaks and a man is genuinely listening, he will still get it wrong.
