About
I love ghekkos. They are small, but very tough. They climb up the highest buildings, and live in remote as well as populated areas. That is how teachers should be: Resilient, always climbing higher, and with a survival instinct that can let you prosper in desert or rain forest. And willing to swallow a few bugs every so often!
I am a teaching and learning coach, and really enjoy this job. I am fortunate enough to go into other teachers’ classrooms, and work with gifted people from all sectors of education. I love the use of technology in classrooms, but am very concerned about the many schools that want teachers to integrate technology only for the sake of integrating technology. I believe we should really focus on improving student outcomes in our decisions about the best ways to teach, and to prepare them for the world they may face when they leave school. I believe that we should look into ways of integrating technology that will allow students to learn in different ways, present their work in innovative ways, and that will allow students to make contact with students and teachers from all around the world. We live in a global community, and we should teach our students how to become global citizens with a true sense of both self and global communities. Vibrant learning communities can survive with the help of technology, but it is our responsibility to assure the best learning and social outcomes for the future generations under our care.

Hi Mary,
I love that article about ‘The only constant, is change’. I was really feeling so this week about change in general and you had my exact thoughts. Great stuff.
I on the other hand hate geckos or anything lizard like. In fact I think I have a serious phobia about them and my Dad when I was young probably caused that cause he had a thing about getting rid of them that once when a lizard went into the washing machine, we turned the machine upside down to get to it and we ended up causing sparks to fly for electronic short circuit. By the lizard was no where to be found!
Good day!

I agree. This is a very interesting and contemporary article. Coincidentally, animals are the post popular photos on the PicLits web site. ( http://www.piclits.com).
More people write and comment when animals like Ghekkos are captured via photographers with talent.
Our photos come from Flickr people that we contact and pay to provide us with pictures. Our word banks come from college students majoring in English or lieterature.
PicLits have really been a tool for language arts teachers in K-K12.
Got to go. Terry Friedlander, founder
